The Croquis Project

The Croquis Project seeks to reconcile the erasure of queer people within the larger fashion narrative by documenting the bodies of gender non-conforming people through studio photography, 3d scanning, illustration, and documentary format with the intention of creating a tangible resource to support designers and brands interested in creating more inclusive fashion.

The “Why”

People who don’t fit the gender binary have been systematically left out of the fashion discourse despite their contributions to it. Traditional fashion education tends to skew towards aesthetic vs solving user problems like fit. Fashion has a long ways to go becoming inclusive across gender, race, and body types!

Let’s Close the Gap

Participants will have their bodies and stories documented for the creation of 2D and 3D assets and resources that can inform future design processes.
